Evil

This coming week at the Tues. Night Thing 737pm back at McLane Church we are having a student share his experience with demon possession. His story gave me chills when i heard it. He came to me after our talk on angels and demon last week at the Hangout and felt compelled by to share his real life expierence with me.

What is your experience with evil? How do you see evil at work? What are we to do about evil in the world and how do we fight it? Check out this face-off debate between Deepak Chopra and Mark Driscoll. http://theresurgence.com/abc_nightline

We have been placed in a war for the heart and minds of this world. I believe we are being lazy in regards to fighting evil. What is our next step as believers? I would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.

Broken Hearts

I love what i get to do everyday as my job. I get to have my office in what ever restaurant, coffee shop or pub that has some sort or wireless connection to the interweb. I have a tremedous amount of atonomy and freedom to determine my schedule and priorities. I work with some amazing people that are passionate about changing the world and advancing the Kingdom of God. They are some of the brightest, most creative and hilarious people i know. These are the kind people that will stand by you no matter how difficult life gets. Did i say that i love my job? Its true!

There is a very difficult aspect to what i do. And to be honest i feel very honored that i get to participate in this as well, though it is extremely trying at times. People have graciously invited me into their lives and allowed me to help carry their burdens. I am often amazed at the huge burdens that people are lugging around. We often have no clue of the hell people have had to live through. I love being a part of the process of seeing God's hand at worki in people's lives, but there are just so many broken hearts out there. The stories never cease to astonish me. The Scriptures say that God is "close to the broken hearted." If your heart has been broken by this broken world, take heart because Jesus has overcome it. There is healing for broken hearts in Him. May the peace and love in Christ be yours in abundance.

Communitas

...is community forged through difficult circumstances or in tremedous opportunity. I want to be apart of a church that is forging deep community by taking great risk and overcoming incredible obstacles. I want to be apart of a community of believers that are willing to go to the grave for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I also want to be the kind of follower of Jesus that continues to seek out new opportunity for the message to thrive, and I want to know Christ deeply and make him known! Come join me in this adventure. Who's in?
